Motorola has been in the Philippines since 1979. Its first venture took the form of a semiconductor components manufacturing facility in Parañaque. This was followed in 1988 by the establishment of the Regional Softw are Development Center in Ayala Alabang.
Motorola's presence has grown to include other business groups which offer personal communications devices, two-way radios, and wireless network infrastructure.
In 1999, Motorola's operation in the Philippines was streamlined and renewed as Motorola Communications Philippines, Inc. This organization is part of the global network that Motorola Inc. has put together to align its communications businesses into an actively managed and coordinated unit.
Motorola in the Philippines has about 50 local employees and it will continue to be a strong and unified team that provides advanced wireless communications products and solutions to customers and consumers in the country.
